The new yum (2.1.x) doesn't modify /boot/grub/menu.lst and set the new
kernel to default when doing kernel upgrades ... (in the new FC and
rhel4 kernels, that is done by I think mkinitrd ... or at least some
other way ... so yum 2.1.x wasn't designed to do it).
I also can verify that up2date (even the latest RHEL4 one) still uses
the old yum headers ... I have to use both createrepo and yum-arch for
CentOS-4beta since we are using yum 2.1.x.
