It's easier to just use the virtual disk files.  Sure, they take up a
lot of space in $HOME, but you can "tar -zcvf mymachine_baseline_`date
-I`.tar.gz mymachine.vmare" and be able to come back to it later.  Saves
a lot of effort if you're using VMWare to experiment with stuff -- or if
you just need single-purpose Windows machines.
